CBC FALL 2020 PROGRAM

TIME TO PLAY SOME HOOPS AGAIN - RESPONSIBLY!

The Catoctin Basketball Club is a non-profit community-oriented organization. Every member of our board is a volunteer, a coach and more importantly, a parent to one or more of our players. We, like the rest of the world, are trying to find the right balance between safety and providing our children with much needed exercise and social interaction.

CBC conducted a very successful and safe summer clinic program at Patrick Henry College gym for players in grades 3-12 and will incorporate lessons learned into our fall program. We have thoroughly reviewed the Governor’s Phase 3 guidelines as well as guidance from the CDC. This program will be held in local gyms and outdoor courts with players from Western Loudoun and Clarke County. There will be NO travel or play against teams from outside the local area.

CBC will comply with all PRCS Return to Play guidelines in public gyms as well and/or any rules at private locations. Additional CBC specific safety protocols will also be in place. All of this information can be found on the CBC homepage under the "Return to Play" tab.

We expect the training to begin Sunday Sep 13th and run for approximately 8 weeks The exact finish date is TBD. Exact dates and times are TBD. Training will be held indoors and OUTDOORS at facilities in and around Purcellville. All training will be supervised by our pro trainers or volunteer team coaches.

In addition to the in-person training, every player will have access to our Virtual Skills Academy using the Breakthrough Basketball Workout Tool. This will include 3 skill specific at home workouts per week for 8 weeks.

In the interest of safety the class sizes will be limited. We also need accurate counts for court space planning so REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT SATURDAY AUGUST 22th.

PROGRAMS

  • For Players in grades Pre-K through 1st grade we will be offering one 45 minute Skills Academy session per week with our pro trainers. Cost is $150. We may consider a second session per week if there is enough interest.
  • For players in grades 2-12 we will be offering:
    • One 45 minute Skills Academy training session per week (indoors)
    • One 45 minute team training session per week (indoors or outdoors). If there are enough players from our Spring Teams we will use those team setups. Otherwise players will be assigned to teams.
    • One 45 minute supervised scrimmage per week (outdoors). These may run from 3 on 3 half court to 5 on 5 full court depending upon interest and skill levels.
    • The cost for this program is $300. There will be no uniforms or formal referees. Pinnies will be used for team training and scrimmages.
